DESCRIPTION:
Timby's Patent November 3, 1857, for John M. Merrick & Co., Worcester, Mass. ripple molding mercury stick barometer.
CONDITION:
the case is fancier than usual for these, but the finish has very dark and has small scratches and dings. The top silvered scaled plate is very nice, with much detail, and a stained but legible rear paper label offers instructions for use. The thermometer normally showing in the center window is absent, as is the lower valve used for transporting when full of mercury, as this one is. These must be carried vertically by hand; no shipping. Ht 38"
